This is one of those anime debates that never seems to end 😭

On the other, there's Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, the anime that made millions of people stop mid-scroll just to admire its animation.

Well, after watching both, I don't think there's one perfect answer. It really comes down to what you're looking for.

Both anime have simple ideas that quickly become much bigger.
In Demon Slayer, Tanjiro Kamado joins the Demon Slayer Corps after tragedy strikes his family, hoping to save his sister and defeat the demons responsible.
Jujutsu Kaisen follows Yuji Itadori, who gets pulled into the dangerous world of curses after making one life-changing decision.
Personally, I think JJK has the more unpredictable story.
You never really know what's going to happen next, and the series isn't afraid to shock its audience.
Demon Slayer's story is more straightforward, but that's not a bad thing. It's easy to follow, emotionally driven, and keeps a steady pace from beginning to end.

⚔️ The Fights
Now this is where things get difficult.
Jujutsu Kaisen's fights feel tactical.
Characters constantly adapt, think ahead, and use their cursed techniques in creative ways.
Every battle feels like a puzzle.
Demon Slayer's fights, meanwhile, focus more on emotion.
Every sword clash carries meaning.
Every victory feels earned.
And those Breathing Style effects...
Yeah, they're absolutely gorgeous 😭
If I'm judging purely on choreography, I'd give JJK a tiny edge.

Alright...
I don't think this one is particularly close.
Demon Slayer's animation is simply breathtaking.
From the backgrounds to the lighting to the sword effects, almost every episode looks like a movie.
That's not saying JJK looks bad—it absolutely doesn't.
In fact, some of JJK's action scenes are incredible.
But Demon Slayer consistently delivers visuals that leave people speechless.

❤️ Characters
This one really depends on your taste.
If you prefer warm-hearted characters who are easy to root for, Demon Slayer has an amazing cast.
Tanjiro is one of the kindest protagonists in anime.
Characters like Zenitsu Agatsuma and Inosuke Hashibira also bring plenty of comedy and energy.
But...
I think JJK's cast has more variety.
From Satoru Gojo to Megumi Fushiguro, Nobara Kugisaki, and Suguru Geto, there are so many memorable personalities.

😭 Emotional Moments
Both anime know how to hit you right in the heart.
But Demon Slayer does it more consistently.

Jujutsu Kaisen has a more complex world.

Neither approach is wrong.
But if you enjoy exploring complicated worlds with deeper lore, JJK has more to offer.

This is actually one of the biggest questions new anime fans ask.
If you've never watched anime before...
I'd probably recommend Demon Slayer first.
Why?

Jujutsu Kaisen is still beginner-friendly, but its power system and fast-paced storytelling ask a little more from the viewer.
